One-Step Dealer Sentiment Dashboard: Key Insights from Q1 2025 vs. Q4 2024

In Q4 of 2024 Principia launched our first One-Step Dealer Sentiment Dashboard. Principia’s sentiment dashboard series is intended to track the perceptions of key purchase decision makers throughout the building products value chain.  Comparison of one-step dealer sentiment results from Q4 2024 to Q1 2025 on lead times and inventory turns generally reveal a mixed sentiment.

Lead times are improving

From late 2024 into early 2025, more than 70% of one-step dealers reported improvement on lead times by their product suppliers. Principia will continue to track one-steppers’ perspective on lead times and whether they are improving over time.

Inventory turns are decreasing

A significantly larger percentage of one-steppers reported a decline in their inventory turnovers in Q1 of 2025 compared to Q4 of 2024. Is it due to an economy facing headwinds? We encourage our readers to share their insights and experiences with us.
